DAOfood® Plus provides the intake of the exogenous DAO enzyme necessary to restore histamine metabolism, preventing the onset of symptoms.

Histamine is a molecule derived from an essential amino acid, histidine, present in significant amounts in both plants and animals, and is used by cells as a messenger.

It is found in all foods of our daily diet and is involved in many biological processes and physiological functions, such as gastric acid secretion, immune system responses, sleep rhythm regulation, appetite control and neuromodulation, since It acts as a neurotransmitter in the CNS (Central Nervous System).

Under normal conditions, the enzyme Diamino Oxidase (DAO), which is found in the small intestine, is responsible for degrading the histamine we eat through the diet.

People who have DAO deficiency do not maintain normal blood histamine concentrations (50-70 mg / l), since they have low activity of the enzyme Diamino Oxidase (DAO).

This alteration of the histamine metabolism may be due to genetic, pharmacological or pathological factors.


Take 1 capsule with a little water 20 minutes before meals (3 times a day). If you cannot swallow the capsule whole, you can open it and ingest the pellets inside it, having to swallow them whole without chewing, splitting or breaking.
